Privacy policy

Summary
Degchi works without an account. Your pantry, shopping list, recipes, family setup, reminders and settings are stored on your phone. We only receive what you choose to send us, such as feedback.
What stays on your device
- Pantry items, shopping list, favourites, cooking history and likes/dislikes.
- Family members you add in guest mode, meal times and notification preferences.
- Water reminders and cooking timers (scheduled as local notifications on your phone).
Uninstalling the app or clearing its data deletes all of this.
What we receive
- Recipe catalogue downloads. The app downloads the latest recipes and ingredients from
api.degchi.matrixinn.net. Like any web request this includes your IP address, which our server logs keep for up to 14 days for security and abuse prevention. - App updates. The app checks our update server for new versions. The request includes the app version and platform.
- Feedback you send. If you use “Send feedback”, we receive your message, the optional contact you type, and technical details (app version, Android version, device model, language) so we can fix problems. Feedback is kept until the issue is resolved and at most 12 months.
Accounts (coming later)
A future version will offer optional Google sign-in to back up and share data with your family. This policy will be updated before that is released, and you will be able to delete your account and its data from inside the app.
Advertising (coming later)
Degchi will be free and supported by ads from Google AdMob. When ads are added, Google may use device identifiers to show and measure ads, as described in Google's partner policy. Where required, you will be asked for consent first. Ads are never shown while you cook.
Children
Degchi is a family kitchen app intended for a general audience. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Security
All connections to our servers use HTTPS. We do not sell your data.
